Home > Learning Center > Scientific Wireless Thermometer
Wireless thermometers are a remarkable development in thermometers which increase accuracy, often readability, and enable there to be a distancing of the person monitoring a temperature from what is being measured. The quantum leap to adding the term "scientific" is that it infers a thermometer which is technologically advanced, is precise, and which can be used in research. In other words this is a scientific instrument. So other thermometers, even wireless thermometers, which are not referred to as scientific do not have the rigour in their design nor construction to earn that scientific designation.
Examples of Scientific wireless thermometers would be thermometers which are designed to measure the temperature in extreme environments, whether in terms of hot or cold, such as a below freezing environment, or extreme in some other way such as being tiny enough to fit into a body through a small incision. The wireless aspect allows research at a distance and a great deal of flexibility in terms of what is being measured being able to be in all sorts of motion, and still being measured accurately There are increasing numbers of these scientific instruments in multiple fields from atomic energy to medicine to volcanology.
