Special receiving device picks up a radio signal that is sent out 7 times per day and synchronizes the clock to the exact hour, minute, and second of the US Atomic Clock in Boulder, Colorado. This is the same technology that NASA, the military, TV and radio stations use to automatically synchronize time with the US atomic clock.
